Internal Audit Supervisor

Investment Funds group is looking for an experienced Internal Auditor ideally qualified Accountant carrying out In-house Audits and preference for experience of financial services businesses. 


Core Responsibilities

  • Undertake specified Internal Audit assignments, ensuring that the work contributed is of a desired standard.
  • Ensure that all audit work papers are documented in a concise and clear manner.
  • Liase with our external audit SOC 1/ISAE 16 providers on a number of their requests  and follow up internally.
  • Research key internal control indicators for their relevance.
  • To complete audits in a timely and cost efficient manner.
  • Travel to additional MFS offices to complete the necessary Internal Audit work (10%).
  • Prepare audit reports detailing issues found and recommending corrective and preventative actions to resolve them.
  • Carry out special project work as requested.
  • Working closely with other members of Internal Audit teams to identify opportunities for better working practices
  • Contribute to the development of the Internal Audit function
  • Undertake as much training as is possible so as to stay relevant in the current dynamic environment


Key Requirements


  • 5+ years experience working in an Audit type role.
  • Financial Services Audit experience is essential.
  • ACA/ACCA/CIA/CPA or a similar standard professional qualification is essential.
  • A knowledge of audit procedures including planning, audit testing, analytical review and types of sampling involved in conducting audits.
  • An ability to gather, analyse and evaluate facts and to prepare and present concise oral and written reports.
  • A positive and flexible can do attitude and self-starting ability with the aptitude to take ownership of projects as required and see them through to completion.
  • Strong organisation and planning skills with the ability to prioritise tasks and focus on and meet task deadlines.
  • An ability to establish and retain effective working relationships with other staff and to communicate clearly and effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Degree in a Business related field (Accounting or Finance preferable)
  • Big 4 trained preferred
  • Some global business travel will be required – up to 10%. 
  • In-depth knowledge of the working of a Fund Administrator/Bank would be preferable.
