Group Financial Accountant – North Cork


A leading multinational requires an experienced and commercially minded Group Financial Accountant to join the team on a permanent basis.


The role:


This is a hands-on role and the job will especially suit someone who enjoys being involved in all aspects of the business. A key player within the organisation, you will be the senior point of contact for the Finance Team and you will be accountable for the full finance function within the business.


You will also be responsible for cost reduction, managing KPIs and audit processes as well as improving and implementing new processes where necessary, in order to increase overall profitability for the business. You will be fully accountable for group budgets, cash flow projections, VAT/CT filings, cash flow projections / expenditure and compiling annual reports etc.

  •  Preparation of monthly consolidated management accounts and Board Report.
  • Preparation of annual consolidated financial statements and Annual Report for Dairygold Co-Op Limited & Subsidiaries.
  • Preparation of statutory accounts for a number of Irish and International legal entities.
  • Responsible for VAT and CT filings and liaising with Tax Advisors.
  • Preparation of cash flow projections, forecasts and capital expenditure reports for the CFO, CEO
  • Preparation of Group Budget and the Consolidated Co-Op Budget
  • Liaise with audit teams and implement recommendations
  • Responsible for reporting in relation to Banking and Bank Covenants.
  • Responsible for Dairygold Co-Op wide Insurance renewal and costing of same.


Essential Requirements:


  • Fully Qualified Accountant (ACCA / CIMA / ACA) plus degree in a relevant discipline
  • Big 4 / Top 10 background preferred
  • 5 years’ minimum experience PQE
  • Tax qualification highly desirable
  • Knowledge of IFRS / FRS102
  • Consolidation experience
  • Commercially minded with excellent analytical skills
  • Fully competent managing KPIs, budgeting, forecasting etc.
  • Target driven and results focused
  • Superb communications skills – ability to liaise with people at all levels from staff and colleagues to clients and stakeholders
  • Strong systems experience across MS Suite and various accounting packages – adept in the use of Oracle an advantage
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritise workload
  • Ability to work effectively within a fast-paced, ever changing environment
  • Strong commercial awareness and business acumen



Location: North Cork

Salary: €50k-€60k DOE plus attractive bonus and benefits package
