Corporate Credit Analyst & Control

The department is Corporate Credit analysis and Control reporting to the Corporate Credit Control Manager.   The department function is to ensure a 1st level of defence within the bank through an independent reporting, monitoring and control of the risks taken by the bank on Corporate clients applied on the entire credit chain – from Front Office support to ITO Servicing.

 

Key Responsibilities

  • Ensure that the operating line functions in the branch are carried out in accordance with the core mission
  • Ensure that operating line policies, procedures, best practices and guidelines are appropriately followed in the branch
  • Monitor daily excesses and irregular utilizations of credit lines
  • Input and validate risk data in the Bank’s risk systems and ensure the accuracy of risk data in all of the systems in use
  • Guarantee the conformity of the legal documentation with the credit decision. Make sure these checks are made in a timely manner
  • Assist the operating line team in fostering strong communications and interactions with the Business, Risk entities, Audit/Inspection, and other Functions, as they pertain to operations matters (corporate credit issues, permanent controls, Business Impact Analysis, follow-up of Audit/Inspection recommendations for operations scope…)
  • Participate as and when required in meetings, and ongoing or future projects which have a direct or partial impact on operations activities
  • Participate in the process of knowledge-sharing and cross-training regarding operating line and related processes and systems
  • Where necessary, assist in identifying and contributing to the resolution of booking, system and other technical problems that could have an impact on the management of corporate credit and counterparty risk thereby ensuring the accuracy and completeness of information for all transactions
  • Contribute to the implementation of a common culture and approach within operations, and promote individual initiative, autonomy and versatility.

 Candidate Requirements

  • A graduate/student of a business related discipline or an individual with a minimum one year’s commercial banking experience
  • Credit analysis / control experience within corporate or investment banking a significant advantage
  • Broad understanding of risk concepts and methodologies / Financial Products
  • Knowledge of credit processes, trade workflows and booking systems is preferable
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills
  • Written and oral fluency in English
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Strong interpersonal skills
  • Good time-management skills
  • Autonomy and capacity to take initiative
  • Capacity to remain objective and independent in order to fulfil the control role required
