Reporting to: Director/Manager for Audit and Assurance

Our client has experienced significant growth in recent years and is regarded as the accountancy firm with the biggest organic growth in Ireland. The company has continued to achieve substantial growth annually, and is the 5th largest international accountancy network globally. In Ireland, their audit department has grown considerably over the last number of years. Within the audit department, their financial services division has experienced exceptional growth and specialises in providing auditing and assurance services to the following market sectors.

  • investment management – hedge funds, traditional investment funds, private equity funds, investment managers and stockbrokers
  • insurance companies – general insurance, re-insurance and captive insurance
  • credit unions
  • aircraft leasing
  • special purpose vehicles and section 110 companies
  • pension schemes

Arising from this growth they are seeking to strengthen their existing financial services audit team with audit seniors to meet the needs of current and future clients.


You will be self-motivated, capable of working on your own initiative and have the ability to plan, control and complete audit engagements.  Excellent opportunities exist for ambitious and driven candidates to progress within the firm. Duties & responsibilities

  • Participate in performing statutory audit, from planning to completion stage

  • Liaising with clients to obtain relevant information and to resolve any audit queries

  • Investigating all audit issues to arrive at a solution or proposed solution

  • Review financial statements in accordance with current accounting standards

  • Draft reports covering financial statements, client business issues, systems and controls and other issues in the engagement plan

  • Design assurance work in accordance with the engagement plan

  • Organise work in accordance with the engagement plan

  •  Ensure compliance with internal (audit methodology and risk management) and external (regulatory) requirements

  • Assist with concluding documents including drafting the audit findings report

Position requirements

  • qualified accountant with experience in audit

  • experience in the financial services industry is an advantage
