Colour Dash is the Irish Cancer Society's 5km family fun run which takes place in several locations around Ireland in June. Participants run, walk or jog as they are pelted by powdered paint. Among them this year was Barbara, Tanya, Debbie and Daniel from the team here at Eden Recruitment. Each kilometre they covered represents a different colour paint and a different aspect of cancer - either a cancer that we need help in fighting against, or something to be celebrated. Eden has been a proud sponsor of the Leixlip United AFC junior soccer teams, based at Easton in Kildare, for several years. The club, founded in 1969, boasts a very healthy and active junior soccer scene, backed up by the Leixlip Utd academy, where children are coached in ball skills and gameplay every Saturday morning by qualified coaches in preparation for team play when they are eligible. “The commitment of Leixlip Utd in the under-age game never fails to impress and is worthy of support. Eden Recruitment were among the businesses to take part in this year’s Grant Thornton 5k Charity Run in Dublin’s Docklands. The run is in aid of the Alzheimer’s Society of Ireland, which provides essential supports for people living with Dementia. Forecasts predict the population of people with dementia, of which Alzheimer’s disease is the most common form, will increase from an estimated 48,000 at present to around 140,000 by 2041. We are proud to promote rugby in the community by supporting the Under-9s at Seapoint Rugby Club in Dublin. Founded in 1934, Seapoint is a community–based club based in Killiney and serving players in the Cabinteely/Killiney/Ballybrack and greater Dun Laoghaire area. The club fields teams from U-6 through to senior, as well as the Seapoint Dragons, a team for players with learning disabilities.
